Resveratrol Side Effects

No one wants to experience unwanted side effects from medication! However, we tend to forget that the term “side effect” can have two meanings. Side effects can be adverse reactions to a drug or treatment; however, they can also be therapeutic effects, or unintended but desirable consequences of taking a medication. Many people have wondered whether there are any adverse effects of resveratrol. Let’s examine some of the possible negative effects, as well as the positive side effects of resveratrol which might also occur. (Here, I’ll try to provide a little of my own experience with resv as well.)

   - Some people have reported feeling an energy rush similar to a caffeine buzz after taking resv. I did notice this a little, but I didn’t find it was any more than the usual alertness I get from drinking a cup of coffee or tea.
   - Stomach sensitivity—some people can find resv to have a laxative effect at first. It’s hard to tell whether this could be a real side effect or a placebo effect. I didn’t experience this, and if anything people probably just started to feel regular for the first time in a while.
   - Trouble sleeping during the first week or two of use. Again, it’s hard to say if this is an actual effect, or a placebo one. I know in my case (I’m a fairly light sleeper anyway) I didn’t notice much of a change.

Recent Resveratrol Studies

We still need more studies to prove which effects can be directly linked to resveratrol use. Resveratrol studies in humans over longer periods can help us determine exactly how resv improves the long term health of resveratrol pill takers. In laboratory animals, we have seen that resv may help to prevent colon cancer, reduce the growth of tumors, and protect against Alzheimer’s. In one University of Pittsburgh study, resv was even found to help protect mice from radiation exposure. Whether these effects can be considered side effects or not, it appears that resveratrol can be a powerful anti-ageing ally.

Resveratrol Supplements

Resveratrol supplements contain potent antioxidants, which are natural appetite suppressants that can help control snack cravings. Resisting snacks between meals was always the hardest part for me, but once I started with a resv supplement, I noticed that I didn’t get the same cravings anymore. I wasn’t going through the constant cycle of snacking and getting an energy kick, only to crash later. (Those sugar-stuffed, carb-packed donuts just didn’t seem as tempting anymore!)  While taking resv, you might find that you have extra energy to spend, which will help you to burn calories for fat loss and shed unwanted pounds (I’ve started taking walks with a girlfriend, at least twice a week).

If you're interested in trying resveratrol, I suggest ResV Daily. It contains 250mg of resveratrol in each capsule along with acai and green tea, and they offer a free trial, so you have nothing to worry about. Try it here.
